📋 Description

• Edit and animate YouTube videos, social shorts, conference highlights, case studies, and launch films • Shape video ideas with the team before editing begins • Edit explainers and interviews paced to maintain audience attention • Produce shorts and vertical clips for social platforms • Edit full conference talks and social clips from events • Create launch videos with polished timing and pacing • Create thumbnails, title cards, typography, and motion graphics • Collaborate closely with PlanetScale's Marketing team • Experiment with new tools to improve video creation speed and quality

🎯 Requirements

• Portfolio showing strong editing across formats, including YouTube, short-form edits, and podcasts • Sharp sense of pacing, structure, and story • Comfort with editing, animation, and design • Fluency in professional editing tools such as Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, and Final Cut Pro • Experience using AI tools to create animations and assist with editing • Curiosity to push the limits of AI in video creation workflows • Ability to create custom scripts and use AI to automate pipeline tasks such as transcription, thumbnail ideation, and rough edits • Ability to collaborate closely with the team and iterate quickly on feedback • PlanetScale welcomes applicants of any educational background • Bonus: background in software development or working with engineering companies • Bonus: experience editing technology or developer content • Bonus: experience growing a channel or account • Bonus: experience with code-driven video tools such as Remotion • Bonus: engaging thumbnail and title creation • Bonus: sound design and audio mixing skills • Bonus: shooting or directing footage • Bonus: livestream or live event production experience
