📋 Description

• Facilitate peers in live virtual group settings and support members with identity-related barriers • Take an empathetic, proactive approach to members’ emotional needs • Use Plume’s monthly themes and templates to create agendas, discussion questions, and activities • Provide feedback on support group structure, facilitator training materials, and related materials • Answer questions about Plume services and support members in accessing those services • Engage participants in the Prism community for connection and engagement outside group meetings • Use conflict-resolution skills to address group dynamics and uphold group agreements • Occasionally provide facilitation coverage for other facilitators • Optionally participate in social gatherings, special events, or temporary Prism moderation coverage • Split time among facilitation, preparation, follow-up, training, and consultation • Work under the oversight of the Community Programs & Engagement Manager

🎯 Requirements

• 2+ years' experience as a facilitator or peer support specialist • 2+ years of experience and a passion for supporting trans/nonbinary individuals through professional work, community involvement, or volunteer roles • 1+ years' experience facilitating virtual or online support groups, workshops, or learning experiences • Comfort and experience facilitating workshops and educational content on equity, anti-discrimination, inclusion, anti-racism, trans/nonbinary issues, consent, and social justice • Experience discussing sensitive issues facing the trans/nonbinary community, including coming out, mental health, gender identity formation and expression, sexuality, relationships, family issues, isolation and loneliness, substance use, HIV and AIDS, and health and safety concerns in a group setting • Nice-to-have: Professional experience in mental health, behavioral health, counseling, licensed social work credentials, peer support, or a related field • Nice-to-have: Equivalent education or certification such as Licensed Therapist, Social Worker, Peer Support Specialist, Mental Health Advocate, Care Coordinator, Crisis Hotline or Textline Responder, Behavioral Health Aide, Community Health Worker, or Youth Worker • Nice-to-have: Ability to facilitate discussions tailored to at least two specified communities • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with fast-paced startup or evolving organizational settings • Nice-to-have: Experience with Zoom, Slack, and Google Sheets
