📋 Description

• Provide patient services as part of the virtual behavioral health team using evidence-based medicine • Diagnose and assess mental and behavioral health disorders in pediatric, adolescent, and young adult patients; formulate differential diagnoses • Demonstrate appropriate clinical judgment in assessment and treatment according to established clinical care guidelines • Collaborate and communicate with therapist teams and medical leadership regarding patient treatment plans • Order and interpret diagnostic tests when appropriate • Conduct patient histories and initial evaluations of incoming patients • Prescribe medications as allowed by license • Provide medication management and counseling • Educate patients and parents on medication side effects, risks and benefits, proper usage, and expected outcomes • Establish and modify treatment plans based on clinical assessment and reassessment with screening tools • Document patient visits in the electronic medical record • Communicate plans of care with the behavioral health team and patients' primary care physicians • Educate patients about their medical care with healthcare team members • Update clinical knowledge and skills through consultation, education, and literature review • Provide appropriate referrals when necessary • Supervise psychiatric nurse practitioners

🎯 Requirements

• Active NY DEA License required • NY Medicaid Number preferred • MD/DO with appropriate licensing in states prescribing • Experience with prior psychopharmacology management • Board eligible or board certified in child and adolescent psychiatry • Strong organizational and time management skills • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Ability to screen for danger to self or others • Demonstrated adherence to acceptable ethical and behavioral standards of conduct • Ability to collaborate and work effectively with a team • Experience working specifically with children and adolescents • Valid DEA License in states prescribing • Valid Medical License in states prescribing • Valid Medicaid number in NY
