• Help plan, manage, and execute all aspects of assigned projects • Responsible for managing material and equipment and assisting with people management • Ensure documentation is complete and meeting project goals to achieve timely and profitable completion of each project • Maintain clear lines of communication between project managers, client personnel, subcontractor and vendor personnel • Communicates key project information to owners, design team, governing authorities, subcontractors, suppliers and others as required • Issue direction to subcontractor/vendor personnel based off of contract documents • Maintain accurate daily field reports • Create and adjust weekly detailed look-ahead schedule as it relates to the overall project schedule • Report any issues to project management team for resolution and enforcement • Document all jobsite conditions accurately • General housekeeping and cleanliness of project site • Schedule and attend inspections and walk throughs with client, inspecting authorities, designers, etc. • Leads all aspects of the company’s safety culture and creates awareness by demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through individual actions and mentoring others • Investigates safety incidents and retrains staff as needed • Provides management of subcontractors and organization of the overall job and workflow • Manages and oversees company staff, subcontractors, suppliers and programs such as Safety, Quality and EEOC for a small project or a major portion/all of a larger project depending on specific project assignment • Develops work plans for subcontractors and self-performed work • Coordinates and manages the care, custody and control of the project site • Leads various meetings including any and all daily and weekly trade meetings and takes and distributes meeting notes • Attends, manages and participates in appropriate progress and/or project OAC meetings • Creates, manages, changes and implements the project’s schedule as needed, in conjunction with the Project Manager • Follows the project filing and documentation organization system as dictated for the project • Updates drawings, logs, diaries and inspection notebooks • Approves and/or records unit cost information for weekly reports and completes daily reports, logs and tracking reports • Evaluates progress on self-perform work and makes adjustments as needed • Manages material and equipment needs for the project • Assists in the selection of the formwork, tools and equipment necessary to complete self-perform operations • Manages timecard approval process to ensure reporting of accurate hours and proper cost codes • Ensures quality compliance through use of specifications, setting quality standards, in–house QA/QC and outside resources • Supports the project closeouts by supervising pre-punch activities and coordinating activities with the owner, architect and governing authorities • Partners with field leadership to establish field staffing for assigned project • Partners with project management to identify schedule and costs associated with project changes • Participates in the negotiation process with the owner and architect to gain agreement for project changes • Participates with the project team in preparation and presentation for all project review meetings, including the monthly review process and other key project meetings • Participates in the project buy out meetings with subcontractors and vendors • Understands and applies the terms and conditions of the owner and subcontractor contracts for the project
• High School Diploma or GED • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or related field (highly preferred) • Minimum of 10 years of construction experience with at least 5 of those years as a superintendent or similar role • The ability to schedule a project • Experience in and ability to utilize the 3-phase inspection program • The ability to communicate in written and oral formats with diplomacy and tact • Demonstrated knowledge of contract compliance in government construction • Successful track record in effectively engaging with subcontractors • Competent in using Microsoft Office products, email systems, and Windows • Must be familiar with the requirements of EM 385-1-1 and have experience in the areas of hazard identification and safety compliance • Must be capable of interpreting a critical path schedule and construction drawings • Ability to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner • Ability to conduct effective presentations • Knowledge of project processes and how each supports the successful completion of a project • Proficiency in scheduling software desired (Primavera is preferred, but Project is also acceptable) • Demonstrated knowledge of specific trades and scopes of work (Intermediate) • Demonstrated knowledge of self-perform and labor productivity • Ability to manage budgets, maximize profitability and generate future work through building relationships • Knowledge of organizational structure and available resources • Knowledge of layout skill preferred • Knowledge of crane flagging and rigging preferred • Ability to understand document changes and impact to the project schedule • Must be able to pass a federal background check.
• Must have an instructor-signed OSHA 30-hour training card • First Aid/CPR/AED certified • Tribal Preference Exercised • Prairie Band, LLC is subject to Title 22: Employment Code of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation. In accordance with Title 22, this position is designated as a TIER 2 position. Preference will be given to individuals to the extent required pursuant to Section 22-2- 4(8).
