📋 Description

• Provide senior scientific and strategic leadership across the business unit • Drive excellence in scientific delivery, operational performance, and business growth • Lead and develop high-performing scientific teams delivering high-quality, compliant, and strategically aligned medical communications • Act as a strategic advisor to clients, shaping communication strategies and strengthening long-term partnerships • Shape proposals and pitches, identify new opportunities, and integrate AI and omnichannel solutions into client strategies • Lead planning discussions that add measurable value • Promote compliance standards and perform audits against Prime and client SOPs and industry regulations • Collaborate with client services leads to optimize resources, workflows, and processes • Provide scientific oversight of project progress and risks and support timely escalation • Review and guide scientific content, messaging, and data interpretation • Contribute scientific input to creative concepts and designs and approve final materials • Partner with the Client Services Director on financial planning and forecasting • Support sustained business growth with the Client Services Director, VP, and Business Development colleagues • Champion team engagement, motivation, and positive culture • Model effective people management through 1:1s, mentoring, development, goal setting, and performance reviews

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum 10 years’ healthcare agency experience in senior roles • A life sciences degree, ideally combined with a higher degree (science Masters, PhD, or MD) • Proven track record in leading and developing scientific/editorial teams within a medical communications agency • Extensive medical writing and scientific leadership experience across a broad range of projects and therapeutic areas • Demonstrated commercial and financial awareness, including experience contributing to forecasting, resource planning, and business performance • Strong leadership and motivational skills • Experience building and maintaining senior client relationships, including leading strategic discussions and identifying growth opportunities • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence presenting to clients • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver to tight deadlines • Awareness of innovation in medical communications, including AI and omnichannel approaches
