📋 Description

• Explore, prototype, and validate analytical methods and LLM applications across political, media, and advertising data contexts • Build proof-of-concept tools, features, and datasets • Iterate on tools and datasets based on feedback from digital practitioners • Engineer validated methods into modular, sturdy, well-documented pipelines and applications ready for production systems • Develop software through agentic development workflows, producing well-specified, reviewable, tested, and documented code • Analyze data critically and communicate findings, tradeoffs, and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences • Work directly with the Senior Director of R&D • Support R&D efforts to prototype next-generation digital intelligence tools and experiment with data methods for digital campaigns

🎯 Requirements

• Strong programming skills in SQL and Python • Demonstrated ability to apply statistical and data science methods in real-world contexts • Strong software engineering habits, including version control, code review, testing, and documentation • Hands-on experience applying LLMs in real projects, including prompt and context engineering, classification or extraction pipelines, model-output evaluation, or agentic frameworks • Experience with agentic software development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or Codex • Experience with GCP and preferably AWS, including building and maintaining data pipelines • Experience using Git and GitHub • Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices • Strong communication and cross-team collaboration skills • Demonstrated curiosity and self-directed exploration through side projects, prototypes, experiments, or similar evidence • Experience communicating with diverse groups and working in a multicultural workforce • Sensitivity to and appreciation of cultural differences • Contractors must be based in the United States • Availability for regular check-ins during Eastern Time business hours • Application must include a resume and a GitHub profile link or relevant work samples • Preferred: experience with digital advertising, media performance, social listening, or media consumption data • Preferred: experience with political, advocacy, campaign, or voter-file data • Preferred: experience with containerization and orchestration • Preferred: experience developing front-end applications or dashboards • Preferred: experience building evaluation frameworks or benchmarks for LLM or ML systems
