📋 Description

• Lead and coach engineering teams to consistently deliver outstanding customer value • Nurture engineers' professional growth through hiring, onboarding, and performance management • Plan work, remove blockers, orchestrate dependencies, and foster clear communication within and beyond the team • Collaborate with product managers and the team to define what to build and how to build it • Drive technical solution design and implementation with the team, aligned with overarching technical direction • Manage technical debt and toil and support existing systems • Contribute to Prolific's engineering practices and cross-team initiatives • Drive technical decision-making and build scalable, resilient, and maintainable systems

🎯 Requirements

• Experience in engineering management or equivalent coaching, mentoring and leadership experience as an individual contributor • Demonstrable track record of building products, leading complex initiatives, and designing systems • Exceptional problem-solving and deep understanding of software engineering • Clear and structured communication skills, with ability to lead diverse teams, influence stakeholders, and collaborate across levels and disciplines • 5+ years of professional software development experience • Hands-on expertise building highly available, transactional, and distributed cloud-based applications • Strong web frontend expertise • Experience building secure, customer-facing frontend applications • Strong knowledge of modern web technologies • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS) • Knowledge of Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Vue.js • Experience with Django Rest Framework, serverless architectures, and container-based services • Experience with MongoDB, DynamoDB, and Postgres • Experience with CircleCI, GitHub Actions, Kubernetes, Celery, EventBridge, and DataDog
