📋 Description

• Support an engagement with The Veterans Integrated Services Network 17 (VISN 17). • Support the current expanded operations and post-COVID operations to restore the healthcare systems to pre-Pandemic operations. • Perform nursing services at the Texas Valley Costal Bend Health Care System. • Foster teamwork collaboratively as a participant, and effectively as a team leader. • Exercise judgment and organization in managing projects and prioritizing tasks. • Participate in patient and family teaching and provide hand-off documentation.

🎯 Requirements

• Graduated with a Bachelor of Science Nursing degree from a program that has been accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). • Registered Nurse with a current Texas State license including BLS certification and ACLS certification. • Assess the physiological and psychological health status of the patient. • Formulate and implement a nursing plan of care based on health data provided by the patient. • Plan of care that prescribes nursing actions to achieve patient goals and coordinates and organizes nursing activities. • Coordinate patient care needs with team members, including other disciplines. • Administer drugs and solutions as prescribed (competent with drug administrations and titrations per ACLS protocol) • Physiologically monitor the patient throughout their stay. • Adhere to universal protocol. • Perform nursing actions that demonstrate accountability. • Participate in patient and family teaching. • Provide Hand-off documentation. • Skills and documentation in the Critical Care: able to perform assigned task safely and correctly and document care in a timely and accurately manner. • Collect lab specimens to include Blood Cultures per hospital policy. • Insert Foley catheters. • Insert peripheral IV access adhering to aseptic technique. • Perform 12 lead EKG. • Demonstrate safe and proper use of equipment to include the bladder scanner, mechanical ventilators, IV infusion pumps; Accu-check, Zoll defibrillator, crash cart and bedside, central monitor and Propac transport monitor. • Maintain performance measures in the ER to include: EKG, Troponin, Pneumonia Protocol and turn-around time. • Provide care for medically/surgically unstable patients.
