📋 Description

• Conduct clinical nutrition assessments and make recommendations of care for residents/patients in long-term care facilities • Provide leadership and management expertise to promote regulatory compliance, quality nutrition, and safety • Communicate in writing and orally with physicians, staff, residents, families, consultants, and corporate staff regarding dietary services • Partner with facilities on regulatory compliance • Provide consultative guidance on professional nutrition and dietary standards according to state and federal regulations • Ensure timely and appropriate facility documentation • Provide medical nutrition therapy for new admissions and residents at nutritional risk according to national standards of practice • Advise dietary managers through in-service training for dietary and nursing staff • Ensure administrators and corporate staff receive consultant reports covering consultation activities • Recommend kitchen and food service equipment needs for centers • Exercise discretion and judgment in interpersonal relationships

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with major in relevant field • Must hold current Registered Dietitian license in the state in which the facility operates • Must be a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) • Must hold a current license in GA, SC, or NC • 2+ years’ experience preferred • Knowledge of nutritional standards • Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations, including sanitation and safety codes within Long Term Care • Ability to evaluate and direct dietary services activities • Strong organization and planning skills • Leadership skills to guide and facilitate consultants • Ability to make quick, logical decisions benefiting residents, staff, and facilities • Primarily a remote role with limited travel
