📋 Description

• Collaborate with project sponsors and stakeholder groups to understand project scope • Generate parametric and detailed estimates for capital projects • Use parametric estimating tools to develop estimates according to AACE estimate class requirements for substation and transmission projects • Use estimating templates to generate assembly-level cost estimates based on detailed scope and 30–50% engineering design • Identify changes to parametric estimating tools to improve data usability for project scheduling and cost management • Compare estimates versus actual project costs to refresh and update parametric estimating tool data • Revise cost data to support enterprise estimating system structure and collaborate with developers on implementation • Improve estimate coordination to avoid duplication, clarify ownership, and prevent scope overlaps • Train estimators on revised tools, particularly contracted estimators • Assist in developing standard work instructions for project scoping and estimating • Attend client and company meetings as needed

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of professional cost estimating experience developing estimate packages for design and construction • Industry experience estimating construction projects for energy utilities and/or above/below grade civil estimating • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite • Proficient in AACE Cost Engineering Practices and TCM framework • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related fields • Ability to use estimating software to generate cost estimates and complete the QAQC process • Less than 10% on-site travel required • Familiarity with Enterprise Estimating Systems such as Sage is a plus • Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma process improvement methodologies is a plus
