📋 Description

• Perform testing, maintenance and repair of low- and medium-voltage circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, motor control and other electrical apparatus in the shop and field • Test relays, circuit breakers, transformers, motor control equipment and related switchgear in the field • Complete mechanical work and repairs on breakers and switches, including tear down, refurbishment and parts replacement • Serve as a technical leader in testing, maintenance and repair of electrical equipment • Prepare and document site projects • Wire circuit breakers • Utilize and accurately read test equipment • Read schematics and wiring drawings • Troubleshoot circuit breaker controls • Read and plot time-current curves • Test transformers, including Power Factor and TTR • Document accurately and consistently using Power DB • Provide instruction and mentorship to junior-level technicians • Work with electrical tools and socket sets • Travel 100% across the United States

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a Switchgear/High Voltage Technician • Proficiency with high voltage test equipment • Knowledge of low and medium voltage test equipment • Ability to carry out written or oral instructions and deal with problems involving several concrete variables • Ability to work with probability, statistical inference, geometry, trigonometry, fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions • Ability to read company manuals, reports, workplace rules and procedures • Ability to speak with poise and confidence, using correct English • Ability to perform regular field work indoors and outdoors • Valid Driver’s license and good driving record • Ability to communicate effectively in English, including reading and writing, due to safety-related materials, documentation and client interactions • NETA 2 certification preferred • Associate’s degree from an accredited 2-year technical college in Electrical Power & Controls (EPC), or an Electrical Engineering Degree from an ABET accredited college preferred • Similar experience and training from the military, including Army Prime Power, Air Force Electrical Power Production, or NAVY Seabee, preferred
