• Lead a two-person team with an Operations Driver/Wire Down Guard • Patrol distribution lines and equipment damaged by hurricanes, ice, wind, or other causes • Ensure crews have proper materials for restoration work • Apply appropriate electrical distribution safety rules • Identify primary and secondary electrical facilities and damaged equipment • Identify all repairs necessary for restoration • Complete detailed, client-specific damage reports • Complete accurate field assessments reflecting actual conditions • Record data according to correct standards for office-based analysis • Communicate with the team to ensure consistent and accurate data collection • Use smartphones and tablets to collect and document data • Use GPS software and geospatial coordinates to navigate territories and client sites • Identify field documentation requirements with minimal supervision • Meet production targets, project deliverables, and milestones • Follow safety protocols and participate in safety initiatives • Assist in power restoration efforts during natural disasters • Travel overnight periodically and work extended on-site hours when mobilized
• Minimum of 10+ years lineman experience required for inspections • High school diploma or equivalent • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform visual assessments • Proficiency using smartphones and tablets for data entry and communication • Ability to work independently with little to no supervision • Willingness to travel extensively to various work sites, sometimes with little notice • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and terrain • Willingness to travel overnight periodically • Valid driver's license and good driving record • Strong navigational skills and ability to read maps • Proficiency in basic computer software and Microsoft Office Suite • Clean and professional appearance • Proper time management skills • Ability to meet pre-employment background check and drug screening standards • Highest standards of ethics and integrity • Commitment to safety protocols and guidelines • Ability to multitask and manage varied projects and deadlines • Strong understanding of distribution pole equipment is a plus • Physical ability to walk power line rights-of-way under various weather and terrain conditions • Ability to stand, walk, sit, reach, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects and tools • Close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
