📋 Description

• Architect and build Quince’s proprietary supply chain planning platform from the ground up • Design and own the full model pipeline lifecycle, including feature engineering, forecasting tournament framework, evaluation, deployment, monitoring, and refresh • Build the experimentation framework for safe production iteration • Integrate vendor management, order management, and inventory platforms into the planning system • Set standards for AI-assisted engineering, including coding assistants, AI-generated tests, and AI-augmented data exploration • Architect LLM-aided observability, root-cause analysis, natural-language operator interfaces, and agentic planning workflows • Partner with the science team on vector stores, prompt versioning, and LLM evaluation harnesses • Build dashboards, override workflows, audit trails, and alerts for operators • Design observability systems for model drift, data quality issues, and forecast failures • Build feedback loops using operator overrides to improve model performance • Partner with planning teams and business leadership to determine priorities and translate business problems into engineering specifications • Set technical direction for the planning tools domain and integrate with logistics, warehouse, and supply chain infrastructure • Provide technical direction to a globally distributed engineering team • Recruit and grow a small engineering team

🎯 Requirements

• 12+ years of software engineering experience with significant time building data-intensive, ML-adjacent, or science platform systems in production • Demonstrated 0-to-1 platform ownership, taking a greenfield charter from architecture through production • Strong production ML and AI platform engineering experience, including feature pipelines, model serving, experiment frameworks, monitoring, drift detection, vector stores, prompt and trace versioning, and LLM evaluation harnesses • AI-native engineering practice, including code generation, test authoring, and AI-augmented platform features in production • Understanding of forecasting and optimization models sufficient to build infrastructure around them and partner with scientists as a technical peer • Strong software engineering fundamentals across data systems, API design, pipeline orchestration, and production operations • Strong communication skills and ability to translate stakeholder requirements into an architectural blueprint and roadmap • Supply chain planning, demand forecasting, inventory optimization, or logistics operations experience strongly preferred • Experience providing technical direction to geographically distributed engineering teams preferred • Hands-on ML or data science background is a plus
