📋 Description

• Support students in developing knowledge and skills essential for success in nursing education and practice • Provide individualized and group academic support • Help students strengthen clinical judgment, professionalism, study and test-taking strategies, and nursing content knowledge • Foster disciplinary expertise, reflective practice, and transferable academic skills • Collaborate on centralized academic support services, resource development, and departmental initiatives • Empower students to take responsibility for their learning • Cultivate rapport with students to encourage and motivate learning • Differentiate instruction according to demonstrated student needs • Facilitate student discovery of existing knowledge and strategies for learning new concepts • Challenge students to make their thinking visible and provide rationales and evidence • Provide academic and learning skill instruction and demonstrate academic tools • Manage session time and redirect students to support progress toward objectives • Model appropriate learning behaviors, including proactive tutor appointment scheduling and participation in online courses • Develop internal and external resources to support student learning • Uphold academic integrity • Complete other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• A Master’s degree in Nursing is required • 1-year clinical experience as an RN required; 2+ years preferred • Proof of active RN licensure that has never been encumbered • Official transcripts required for each degree earned from an accredited institution • Active CPR certification administered by either the American Heart Association or The American Red Cross • Applicable faculty immunization documentation required • Teaching experience preferred: a minimum of three years of experience in the field of study • Self-motivated, flexible, and able to work under minimal supervision • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with students, leadership, and peers • Excellent written and strong verbal communication skills in the English language • Regular access to a computer meeting Windows XP or greater and Microsoft Office 2010 requirements • An internet connection • Ability to deliver constructive feedback in a student-centered and respectful tone • Strong attention to detail and time management skills • Proficiency working in a fully remote environment • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends preferred • Prior experience in tutoring or other academic support preferred • Experience with diverse student populations, including adult learners and ESL students preferred • Familiarity with learning management systems such as D2L preferred • Familiarity with NCLEX preparation tools and strategies preferred
