• Lead the redesign and continuous improvement of Developmental Education Pedagogy courses • Align DEP coursework with semester-level content, rigor, learning outcomes, pedagogical expectations, and licensure competencies • Incorporate evidence-based instructional practices and appropriate learner scaffolds • Review course materials, assignments, assessments, and instructional resources using candidate performance data • Collaborate with institution leaders and UTC faculty to analyze candidate performance and developmental needs • Map pedagogy licensure competencies and assessment expectations across DEP coursework • Prepare candidates for required licensure assessments and develop targeted interventions for candidates not demonstrating readiness • Establish benchmarks and systems to monitor candidate progress toward licensure exam readiness • Provide instructional leadership, coaching, supervision, observations, and feedback for DEP Professors of Practice • Facilitate professional learning on developmental education pedagogy, candidate intervention, data-informed instruction, and licensure preparation • Establish systems to identify candidates needing academic or licensure support and coordinate targeted interventions • Develop and monitor key performance indicators for DEP programming • Analyze candidate outcome data and recommend curricular, instructional, staffing, or intervention changes • Provide regular updates to academic leadership • Perform additional duties assigned by the Dean or Director of Academic Operations
• Master’s degree in education, curriculum and instruction, teacher education, literacy, educational leadership, or a related field • Experience in teaching, curriculum development, instructional coaching, or educator preparation • Demonstrated knowledge of effective instructional practices for supporting developing learners • Experience using student or candidate performance data to inform instructional decisions • Strong communication, collaboration, organization, and project-management skills • Experience in higher education or educator preparation (preferred) • Experience supervising, coaching, or developing faculty (preferred) • Knowledge of licensure assessments and educator licensure requirements (preferred) • Experience designing, implementing, and evaluating targeted interventions or academic supports for candidates preparing for high-stakes assessments (preferred) • Experience analyzing assessment or licensure data to inform curriculum, instruction, and continuous improvement (preferred)
