• Answer incoming clinic telephone calls, identify callers' needs, and route calls to the proper department • Maintain advanced knowledge of the organization, department locations, satellite locations, and operating hours for 350+ providers • Perform overhead paging and maintain communication during emergencies or code situations • Provide 24-hour answering service to clinic providers, administration, IT, facilities management, and other departments and offices • Change on-call schedules and enter exceptions • Perform research for management • Perform TeleNurse Intake duties, including identifying patients requesting TeleNurse services, locating patients in the EHR and triage system, verifying patient information, and updating or registering patients • Route emergency calls to the office nurse/TeleNurse according to emergency procedures • Adhere to patient service standards and departmental workflows • Report workflow problems and complaints to the Manager • Comply with incident reporting policies and procedures • Provide excellent customer service and follow the Code of Conduct and Ethics Standards • Perform other duties as assigned
• High school graduate or GED required • Minimum of one year of medical office and/or phone experience preferred • Must reside within a 40-mile radius of Springfield, IL • Proficient and accurate typing skills required • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred • Deductive reasoning • Ability to work under pressure with accuracy • Excellent attendance in previous work environment • Intermediate computer skills and knowledge of computer software programs • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills • Ability to perform extended periods of sitting in an office-type environment • HIPAA1 privacy level • Adherence to OSHA and Springfield Clinic training requirements
