📋 Description
• Supervise implementation of disaster services programs in an assigned geographic area • Lead and supervise disaster program employees and volunteers • Implement disaster preparedness, response, and recovery programs • Support development and leadership of disaster volunteers across disaster-cycle functions • Manage volunteer-led disaster services programming, including mass care, response, community preparedness, recovery, planning, and readiness • Monitor, collect, and analyze business data to improve services • Ensure compliance with data protection and privacy regulations • Create and improve plans for disaster cycle services program delivery • Develop, train, coach, delegate to, coordinate, evaluate, and manage performance of employees and volunteers • Collaborate with the Disaster Workforce Engagement Team • Prepare and mobilize communities and engage community, emergency management, government, faith-based, and other partners • Coordinate community listening and engagement activities • Build relationships across internal lines of business in a matrix management environment • Develop and implement plans to meet regional targets • Serve as the local Red Cross disaster subject matter expert • Partner with local organizations and leaders to support community resiliency • Initiate and coordinate disaster relief operations • Serve as a disaster leader after completing training requirements • Deploy and participate in operations outside the home region • Direct daily operations of the work unit
🎯 Requirements
• Bachelor's degree required • Minimum 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required • 1 year of lead or supervisory experience • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills • Ability to develop project plans and budgets • In-depth knowledge of the program or service • Ability to create presentations and develop training modules • Ability to develop strategies to achieve organizational goals • Analytical and decision-making skills for continuous program or service improvements • Collaboration with diverse groups and individuals • Facilitation, problem solving, marketing, leadership, and partnership management skills • Planning, public speaking, project management, and process improvement abilities • Customer-oriented, organized, solutions-oriented, externally focused, and team-oriented • Intermediate proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook • Familiarity with federal, state, and local employment laws • Ability to work outside regular duty hours, including nights and weekends • Ability to work under “steady state” requirements • Ability to work on a team • Regional disaster employees must deploy outside their region at least once a year • Must meet all training and physical capacity requirements for deployment • Travel may be required • Must frequently lift or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally up to 30 pounds • Ability to work at a computer terminal for extended periods
