📋 Description

• Lead and grow a team of Postgres engineers through mentorship, feedback, and clear technical guidance • Drive key product initiatives from ideation through launch while balancing speed, reliability, and quality • Partner with Product, Design, and Infra teams to translate customer needs into technical solutions and product roadmaps • Guide system design decisions and help navigate architectural tradeoffs • Foster ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement in engineering practices and team processes • Break down complex problems into incremental milestones that deliver value quickly and support long-term platform evolution • Ensure understanding of developer experience and customer impact for team-built features • Collaborate with product management, customers, and internal teams to align priorities and deliver impactful features and solutions

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years as an Engineer shipping products and/or features with downstream impact on the business and product ecosystem • Ideally, experience building stateful services • 2+ years of experience managing people and developing engineers, including hiring, mentorship, and performance management • Strong technical background in system design, architecture, and engineering tradeoffs • Product-oriented mindset with experience translating business goals and user needs into engineering roadmaps and shipped features • Ability to balance urgency with thoughtful execution while maintaining high quality • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across engineering, product, and design • Strong sense of ownership and accountability for team outcomes and long-term system health • Generally not eligible for new visa sponsorship; existing visa transfers may be sponsored at Render's discretion, with business authorization required for applicants needing sponsorship • Legally authorized to work in the United States
