• Oversee the scientific communications team within Medical Affairs • Support Medical Information services for launch and ongoing medical support of marketed and pipeline products • Oversee Medical Information strategy, including development and updates of standard response letters and FAQs • Ensure the Medical Information database is accurate and implement upgrades and enhancements • Oversee call center training on disease state, pivotal product data, work instructions, and handling guides • Provide clinical guidance for escalated medical and access inquiries • Contribute to scientific and medical review of promotional and scientific materials through the Medical Legal Review committee • Oversee development of field medical and market access resources and scientific communication initiatives • Oversee submissions to drug compendia such as NCCN with cross-functional strategic partners • Develop strategic direction and manage day-to-day Medical Information activities • Hire and mentor staff as appropriate • Interface with pharmacovigilance, quality, medical, field medical, commercial, regulatory, legal, clinical development, and external partners • Manage Medical Information vendors and optimize business operations • Provide oversight and support for scientific conferences • Ensure development and updates of department policies, guidelines, and SOPs
• Advanced degree in the sciences required (MD/PhD/PharmD) • 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry experience • Minimum 3 years of experience in Medical Information or Medical Communications • Clear understanding of internal/external regulatory and ethical guidelines relevant to the pharmaceutical industry • Comprehensive knowledge of the drug development process, medical affairs, patient safety, and commercial activities • Proven ability to interpret, communicate, and implement medical/scientific strategies using systems, tools, and processes such as Veeva Vault and CRM • Strong leadership ability and credibility in multicultural organizations and with external stakeholders • Team building experience with direct reports is preferable • Ability to efficiently manage time and priorities • Ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with thought leaders and key decision makers • Excellent communication and diplomacy skills combining science and relationship building • Ability to translate customer and client needs into effective decisions and drive continuous improvement • Willingness to travel
