📋 Description

• Lead the firm’s tax department across compliance and advisory functions • Serve as the senior technical authority for tax matters • Drive growth of Tax Advisory Services (TAS) • Develop the firm’s tax professionals and systems • Sit on the firm’s leadership team • Deliver an exceptional client experience across all client tiers • Ensure accurate returns, met deadlines, implemented strategies, consistency, accountability, and quality • Develop and support advisors and preparers while maintaining high standards and low turnover • Expand and deepen the advisory practice across the client base • Provide proactive, high-value guidance to TAS clients • Retain, serve, and grow high-value client relationships

🎯 Requirements

• CPA required; MS in Taxation strongly preferred • 10+ years of public accounting experience with meaningful time in a leadership or review capacity • Mastery of tax strategy development • Ability to quickly diagnose a client’s situation and sketch out tactics to mitigate tax exposure • Deep fluency in individual and business taxation, including 1040s, 1120-S, 1065, multi-state, and multi-entity structures • Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships at the advisory level • Experience managing or developing tax staff • Comfortable in a growing firm and able to bring structure, not just headcount • Deep expertise in tax planning, compliance, and complex business and individual return review • Skilled at coaching, motivating, and holding teammates accountable • Ability to communicate tax strategy clearly • Ability to diagnose difficult tax and financial situations and propose smart, defensible solutions • Ownership and accountability with strong follow-through • Ability to contribute strategically to the firm’s direction
