📋 Description

• This key position involves investigating and analyzing residential, commercial, and industrial properties to resolve claims and legal matters. • Assignments may include contract disputes, installation deficiencies, material deficiencies, site evaluations, settlement investigations, structural assessments, and vibration analyses. • Duties include gathering photographic evidence, conducting investigations to document on-site conditions, overseeing field-testing, and reviewing historical documentation. • Preparation of oral and written reports to document the causes of failure, extent of loss, associated repair scope, and remediation recommendations is essential, as is providing opinions and expert testimony in litigated matters.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering. A master’s degree is preferred. • 5 years’ minimum engineering experience working with residential, commercial, and/or industrial properties in a design or forensic consulting role. • A PE license in New York is required. Obtaining additional state licensing will be required in the role. • A current NCEES record is preferred. • Experience in handling litigation and investigations is required. • Knowledge of building codes, fundamental architectural and/or engineering principles, construction materials, assembly and installation, and industry practices is required.
