📋 Description

• Serve as the primary privacy legal advisor supporting product teams building AI-first communications and contact center solutions • Act as the dedicated privacy legal point of contact for Engineering and Product Management throughout the development lifecycle of new services and features • Advise on privacy implications of new features, including AI features, in collaboration with Product Counseling and Regulatory Teams • Lead execution and documentation of Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) and Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) • Ensure RingCentral services comply with evolving global privacy and security regulations • Partner with Information Security to review product security controls, conduct risk analyses, and align legal privacy requirements with technical security implementation, including HIPAA requirements • Develop and update customer-facing collateral and resources on the RingCentral Trust Center • Support records of processing activities and documentation covering data locations, data transfers, and subprocessor processing • Support the incident response program and represent the Privacy Team in incident response activities • Monitor legal developments and collaborate with industry peers on global privacy trends and issues • Collaborate with and provide guidance to Privacy Team members • Report to the Head of Privacy

🎯 Requirements

• J.D. Degree • Active membership in good standing with at least one US state bar • 6+ years of legal experience with focus on data privacy, preferably combining law firm and in-house experience • Direct experience counseling product teams on privacy requirements • Deep working knowledge of major global privacy laws and practical implementation of the laws to product innovation • Understanding of the legal and governance implications of the adoption and development of AI • Experience in solving product legal matters • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with stakeholders with wide-ranges of legal and technical experience and knowledge • Proven ability to proactively identify opportunities to streamline legal processes and increase efficiency • Strong communication skills and ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with cross-functional partners • Ability to triage and prioritize tasks and issues; flexibility, adaptability, and teamwork
