• Oversee local volunteer chapters in western Colorado • Organize fundraising events, including Big Game banquets, special events, and grassroots fundraising activities • Recruit, train, and retain volunteers • Oversee review and recommendation phases of RMEF’s granting program in western Colorado • Lead, organize, and guide local chapter committees in planning, organizing, and executing in-person fundraising activities and events • Meet or exceed annual profit center goals • Work with regional, state, and chapter chairs to ensure compliance with operating policies, procedures, financial reporting, and event execution • Plan and execute an annual in-person volunteer workshop covering grassroots fundraising and chapter/volunteer recognition • Chair or co-chair the granting process, including solicitation, review, and recommendation of hunting heritage, habitat stewardship, wildlife management/research, and lands projects for funding • Direct volunteer recruitment and grassroots fundraising training across chapters • Complete and submit required records, reports, and paperwork accurately and on time • Respond to inquiries about RMEF activities and programs within the assigned region • Ensure compliance with state non-profit and charitable fundraising laws and requirements • Launch new chapters and/or in-person fundraising events to increase sustainable net revenue growth
• Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Business, Marketing, Fundraising, Communications, or related field • Five years additional professional experience in a business environment • Experience working with volunteers and fundraising preferred • Must be located in western Colorado • Frequent weekday and weekend travel • Ability to work any day of the week, including weekends • Ability to work late at night, often until after midnight • Ability to sit for long periods in a car or airplane and stand for 2–6 hours • Ability to work at a computer terminal for extended periods • Ability to lift heavy items up to 50 pounds • Possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license and acceptable driving record • Thorough knowledge and support of RMEF’s mission, goals, organizational structure, and activities • Understanding of hunting’s role in wildlife management and conservation • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills • Ability to speak to large groups • Ability to direct and motivate volunteers • Proficiency in annual fundraising income projections and operating expense budgets • Proficiency in web-based software platforms and Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook • Ability to work independently without frequent direct supervision • Ability to work in and foster a team-oriented environment • Ability to resolve conflicts, adapt to changing priorities, and manage multiple priorities simultaneously • Ability to travel extensively and work flexible hours
