• Oversee local volunteer chapters in assigned geographic areas • Organize Big Game banquets, special events, and other grassroots fundraising activities • Recruit, train, and retain volunteers • Oversee the review and recommendation phases of RMEF’s granting program in Iowa and Illinois • Lead, organize, and guide local chapter committees in planning, organizing, and executing successful in-person fundraising activities and events • Meet or exceed annual profit center goals • Work with regional, state, and chapter chairs to ensure compliance with operating policies, procedures, financial reporting, and event execution requirements • Plan and execute an annual in-person volunteer workshop covering grassroots fundraising training and chapter/volunteer recognition • Chair or co-chair the granting process, including solicitation, review, and recommendation of hunting heritage, habitat stewardship, wildlife management/research, and lands projects for RMEF funding • Direct volunteer recruitment and grassroots fundraising training across all chapters within the profit center • Complete, maintain, and submit required records, reports, and paperwork accurately and on time • Respond to inquiries about RMEF activities and programs in the assigned region • Ensure compliance with state nonprofit and charitable fundraising laws, including raffles, drawings, games, and other fundraising activities • Launch new chapters and/or in-person fundraising events to expand RMEF and increase sustainable net revenue growth • Promote RMEF’s mission, goals, programs, and conservation activities
• Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Business, Marketing, Fundraising, Communications, or related field • Five years additional professional experience in a business environment • Experience working with volunteers and fundraising preferred • Must be located in Iowa and Illinois • Frequent weekday and weekend travel • Ability to work any day of the week, including weekends • Ability to work late at night, often until after midnight • Ability to sit for long periods in a car or airplane and stand for intervals of 2–6 hours • Ability to work at a computer terminal for extended periods • Must be able to lift heavy items up to 50 pounds • Valid state driver’s license and acceptable driving record required to operate rental or personal vehicles for business travel • Thorough knowledge and support of RMEF’s mission, goals, organizational structure, activities, and the biological, social, and political elements shaping them • Inclusive understanding of hunting’s role in wildlife management and conservation • Excellent people, organizational, communication, and public speaking skills • Ability to develop relationships with a wide variety of individuals • Self-starter able to direct and motivate volunteers • Ability to identify future chapter opportunities and recruit volunteers • Proficiency in annual fundraising income projections and operating expense budgets • Proficiency in web-based software platforms and Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook • Ability to work independently without frequent direct supervision • Ability to work in and foster a team-oriented environment • Ability to resolve conflicts, adapt to changing priorities, and manage multiple priorities simultaneously • Ability to travel extensively and work flexible hours
