📋 Description

• Perform mechanical engineering work related to integrating power generation equipment in customer projects for the Project System Business. • Work on project design and development for new or existing products. • Manage the overall Project System Business scope and site/building integration. • Design walk-in enclosures and housing for generator sets, KPP, BESS, and other systems. • Define system requirements with clients and perform or coordinate ventilation airflow design, static pressure calculations, sound attenuation, exhaust, fuel, and water piping in accordance with industry codes and standards. • Develop complete Project System Business scope from initial ideas through onsite delivery. • Manage customer requirements, design scope, and changes. • Verify manufacturing drawings, P&I diagrams, schematics, data sheets, and similar drawings for compliance with design specifications. • Research and analyze requirements from engineering standards, contracts, and proposal documents. • Prepare engineering calculations and drawings according to applicable codes, contract requirements, and company standards. • Prepare and finalize equipment specifications for major equipment. • Select design concepts and fundamental technology for new products or improvements to existing products. • Review customer specifications against MTU designs and equipment vendor proposals. • Lead or participate in bid-leveling exercises on vendor proposals with purchasing. • Complete work according to standard engineering principles and practices. • Follow company quality-system procedures. • Advise and mentor associate engineers. • Liaise between sales, internal engineering, project management, and vendors. • Create and deliver presentations to executive management and site teams. • Review control systems and schemes.

🎯 Requirements

• Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. without sponsorship. • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Application Engineering, Combustion Engineering and 3 years of mechanical engineering experience; or 7 years of mechanical engineering experience with design, field service, application, sales or manufacturing engineering. • Willingness to travel for business trips up to 30%. • Understanding of design and system capabilities. • Applied knowledge of reciprocating internal combustion engines used in genset applications, including exhaust treatment technologies. • Ability to read and interpret P&I diagrams and manufacturing drawings. • Fundamental knowledge of AC and DC electricity. • Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings, including single line diagrams and point-to-point drawings. • Experience with mechanical systems and control systems. • Ability to take initiative and work independently. • Problem analysis and problem resolution skills. • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and explain conclusions to management through presentations. • Computer skills with MS Office suite, BIM360, drafting tools, and CAD software. • Dependability, versatility, flexibility, and team orientation. • Commissioning, testing, or site inspection experience. • Computer skills with SAP, Windchill, Creo, MS Project, and collaboration tools. • Knowledge of control systems, PLC, and parameter changes. • Consulting engineering experience in MEP or structural capacity. • Professional Engineer license in any state. • OSHA30 certificate or ability to complete online training within 60 days of start. • Project experience.
