📋 Description

• Lead projects through the lens of product design, aligning design, strategy, business, and operational objectives • Translate qualitative research and strategic design insights into clear, actionable product design • Shape user-centered concepts, systems, and interaction models for complex problem spaces • Generate and evolve low- to high-fidelity concepts, functional prototypes, and multiple design paths • Guide iteration and validation • Design and deliver strategically grounded user flows and interactive prototypes • Set the quality bar through direct contribution to high-impact product moments • Partner with research, strategy, product, and engineering from initial framing through design delivery and build • Balance desirability, viability, and feasibility • Create persuasive narratives and visual storytelling artifacts for internal teams and senior client stakeholders • Evolve Product Design tools, systems, and methodologies at Runyon • Mentor and support designers across levels • Help attract and engage design talent and reinforce team culture and standards • Foster trust-based, collaborative partnerships across teams • Communicate design rationale and storytelling to senior and executive stakeholders

🎯 Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in product / UX design (or equivalent) • Significant experience on an in-house product team • Experience within a design studio or agency environment is a strong complement • Portfolio demonstrating exceptional craft from early concepting through high-fidelity, production-ready outputs • Strength in zero-to-one product/service design and/or design systems creation and implementation • Ability to rapidly generate and iterate on concepts • Deep proficiency with contemporary design and prototyping tools and methods, including Figma • Demonstrated depth using AI-powered design and coding tools • Strong communication and storytelling skills • Strong point of view on product design grounded in user empathy • Comfort operating in ambiguity, experimentation, and generating multiple solution paths • Fluency in emerging tools and technologies, including AI-enabled design workflows • Working understanding of how products are built, including code, systems, and technical constraints • Comfortable both leading and contributing through direct execution • Nice to have: Experience in financial services, fintech, payments, or other complex, regulated domains
