• Lead, manage, and execute federal income tax consulting engagements for corporate clients, depending on role level • Manage a team of consultants providing review and audit services • Identify and pursue tax recovery opportunities • Oversee projects and interactions among team members, clients, and taxing jurisdictions • Review and evaluate all aspects of engagements • Make appeal recommendations and manage the appeal process • Develop project workplans and schedule project deliverables • Mentor and guide team members on career paths • Build relationships with clients and firm leadership • Travel to client locations to gather information • Oversee quality of client work • Prepare and conduct client presentations • Assist with client billing and financial forecasting • Respond to client inquiries and tax-authority requests • Defend client tax positions in court when necessary • Manage complex income tax projects, especially Tax Accounting Methods and federal tax planning opportunities • Review documentation and research issues • Delegate work among the team • Prepare Forms 3115 and required project-deliverable statements • Safeguard confidential information and sensitive material • Lead indirect project team members and potentially manage direct reports
• Four-year college degree from an accredited institution in a practice-relevant area • 3+ years of practice-relevant experience • 1+ year of management experience (formal or informal) • Excellent organization and time management skills • Strong communication skills • Willingness to learn and be a team player • Beginner’s knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research • Valid driver’s license required • Ability to work in a complex, deadline-driven environment • Ability to handle tasks in a timely manner and with a high degree of accuracy • Solid analytical aptitude, research, and problem-solving skills • Strong grammar, spelling, and proofreading skills • Ability to handle and safeguard confidential information and sensitive material • 30–40% independent travel requirement • Applicants for employment in the US must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require visa sponsorship
