Safe Place Counseling is a Houston-based mental health counseling and consulting agency that provides evidence-based, trauma-informed services to children, adolescents, adults, and families. The practice offers a broad range of services including mental health targeted management, mental health rehabilitative services, skills-building and development, crisis intervention, individualized treatment planning, CPW case management for children and pregnant women, and family and individual counseling. Safe Place Counseling is a certified mental health provider with government contracts, accepts commercial and behavioral health insurance, and focuses on compassionate, ethical care to support recovery and resilience.

📋 Description

• Provide community-based clinical services according to client treatment plans • Maintain a caseload of 3–10 clients • Attend monthly supervisions and team meetings • Serve as an integral member of the SP team to ensure continuity of care and support services as needed • Provide structured, face-to-face scheduled sessions based on treatment plans • Provide services in home, school, office, and community settings • Render the majority of mental health services in the community while limiting clinic-based services • Complete documentation within 48 hours of service • Collaborate with and provide ongoing updates to the clinical team, including the psychiatrist, as needed • Complete and attest to mandatory training identified in TRR • Provide skill-building and case-management services • Submit reports on time • Support the agency's culture, growth, and success through communication, accountability, and positive contributions

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with coursework equivalent to a major in psychology, social work, medicine, nursing, rehabilitation, counseling, sociology, human growth and development, physician assistant, gerontology, special education, educational psychology, early childhood education, or early childhood intervention • Qualified Mental Health Professional competency demonstrated and documented • English and Spanish speaking • Ability to work efficiently and effectively both individually and as part of a team • Ability to appropriately accept feedback through the supervision process • Well organized and adaptable • Good insight and judgment • Effective conflict resolution skills • Effective oral and written communication skills • Ability to work with children and families using an approved curriculum
