📋 Description

• Lead the group on challenging electrical engineering projects involving investigation, troubleshooting, and resolution of electrical engineering issues • Lead group members’ efforts to complete electrical engineering project deliverables within technical, quality, financial, and project-control expectations • Initiate and convey scope of work to group members • Define deliverables including calculations, specifications, and drawings • Review status, track progress, maintain project scope and budget, and keep clients informed • Conduct routine status meetings and submit progress reports • Track and resolve open items and emergent project issues • Coordinate completion of project deliverables • Lead detailed design phases for electrical engineering work and coordinate with other disciplines • Develop project scopes, cost estimates, and schedules for complex electrical modifications at nuclear power plants • Develop proposals for complex electrical modifications at nuclear power plants • Provide technical oversight and supervision for electrical engineering activities • Prepare engineering design change packages and supporting calculations for plant equipment installation, replacement, or upgrades • Prepare AC/DC power studies, short-circuit, cable ampacity, voltage-drop, breaker-coordination, motor-starting, and protective-relay-setting calculations • Develop equipment procurement specifications • Support bid review and evaluate potential equipment vendors • Respond to vendor questions and maintain question/response tracking • Interface with clients to validate scope and ensure satisfaction • Mentor and guide group development • Identify client needs and strategic opportunities • Develop follow-on work from existing client relationships • Prepare and coordinate multidisciplinary proposals • Lead or oversee automation and process-improvement work using modern tools such as Python, MATLAB, advanced Excel, and AI

🎯 Requirements

• A BSEE degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program • 10 or more years of experience in the design of electrical engineering systems for nuclear power plants • 3 or more years of experience in leading an engineering design group through all phases of a project design • Experience in the selection of equipment, materials, and the preparation and assembling of engineering design change packages, calculations, and specifications • Experience with serving as firm/client liaison in a support or lead engineering role • Experience with electrical system design including low and medium voltage distribution systems (transformers, generators, motor, relays, etc…) • Effective written and verbal communication skills to convey information to project team members and client • Proficiency with MS Office applications • Detail oriented approach to work • Capable of being badged for unescorted access to a nuclear station • Must not require U.S. work authorization sponsorship • PE license is preferred • Willingness or ability to lead others using automation and AI tools • Additional learning such as a minor, certificate, or experience in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or related fields is valued but not required
