📋 Description

• Lead the group on challenging nuclear electrical engineering projects • Investigate, troubleshoot, and solve electrical engineering issues for single- and multi-discipline projects • Lead group members to complete electrical engineering deliverables meeting technical, quality, financial, and project-controls expectations • Initiate and convey scope of work to group members • Define deliverables including calculations, specifications, and drawings • Review status and track group-member progress to maintain project scope and budget and keep the client informed • Conduct routine status meetings and submit progress reports • Track and resolve open items and emergent project issues • Coordinate completion of project deliverables • Lead detailed design phases for electrical engineering work and coordinate with other disciplines • Develop project scopes, cost estimates, and schedules for complex electrical modifications at nuclear power plants • Develop proposals for complex electrical modifications at nuclear power plants • Provide technical oversight and supervision for electrical engineering activities • Prepare engineering design change packages for installing, replacing, or upgrading plant equipment • Develop engineering calculations including AC/DC power studies, short circuit, cable ampacity, voltage drop, breaker coordination, motor starting, and protective relay settings • Prepare equipment procurement specifications • Support bid review and evaluation for potential equipment vendors • Respond to vendor questions and maintain question/response tracking • Interface with clients to validate scope and ensure satisfaction • Mentor and guide group development • Identify client needs that may create strategic opportunities • Develop follow-on work from existing clients through client relationships • Prepare and coordinate multi-discipline proposals • Lead oversight of automation and AI-enabled engineering workflows and review automated outputs

🎯 Requirements

• A BSEE degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program • 12 or more years of experience in the design of electrical engineering systems for nuclear power plants • 3 or more years of experience in leading an engineering design group through all phases of a project design • Experience in the selection of equipment, materials, and the preparation and assembling of engineering design change packages, calculations, and specifications • Experience with serving as firm/client liaison in a support or lead engineering role • Experience with electrical system design including low and medium voltage distribution systems (transformers, generators, motor, relays, etc…) • Effective written and verbal communication skills to convey information to project team members and client • Proficiency with MS Office applications • Detail oriented approach to work • Capable of being badged for unescorted access to a nuclear station • We do not sponsor employees for work authorization in the U.S. for this position • PE Licensure is preferred • Willingness or ability to lead others using modern tools such as automation and AI • Additional learning in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or related fields is valued but not required
