📋 Description

• Guide a team of structural engineers • Interface with clients and engineers from other disciplines • Manage a variety of structural engineering projects • Apply knowledge of materials, structural analysis, structural steel design, and reinforced concrete design • Work on projects for various clients and interface with them as required • Direct preparation and review of design calculations, specifications, reports, and other deliverables • Support designers with drawing development • Supervise and mentor others in developing quality engineering deliverables • Perform structural analysis and design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, and foundations using computer tools • Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews • Travel to plant sites for construction coordination and field verification of designs • Lead use of automation and AI to improve workflows, reduce rework, and deliver cost-effective designs • Oversee engineers who program or script to automate engineering tasks and review automated outputs

🎯 Requirements

• BSCE or MSCE from an ABET-accredited program • Ten or more years of experience working as a member of a project team in the design and analysis of industrial, heavy commercial, or nuclear facility structures • Proficiency with structural analysis software such as STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS • Proficiency with design codes and standards such as ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.; Sargent & Lundy does not sponsor work authorization • PE or SE license valued but not required • On-site construction support experience valued but not required • Experience overseeing automation using Python, MATLAB, or advanced Excel valued but not required • Additional learning in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or related fields valued but not required
