📋 Description

• Serve as electrical engineering lead for owner's engineer engagements for utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects • Prepare solar and battery energy storage EPC RFP packages and associated technical specifications • Evaluate EPC proposals to assist in selecting preferred EPC contractors • Provide technical support during EPC contract negotiations • Prepare or review specifications for main power transformers, BESS/PV collection system components, and other key equipment • Review EPC contractors' electrical engineering design drawing packages and supporting calculations • Lead work involving renewable low-voltage DC and AC systems • Lead AC collection system work for solar and battery projects • Lead collector substation and interconnecting substation expansion work • Lead gen-tie transmission work • Interact face-to-face with power plant developers, owners, lenders, and investors during consulting services work • Lead others in using automation and AI to improve engineering workflows and designs • Oversee engineers programming or scripting automation tasks, with review of automated outputs

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering • 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering design of utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects as part of an EPC team or Owner's Engineer • Evidence of at least one utility-scale project with direct engineering experience during development of IFC design • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Solid interpersonal skills and ability to work with and guide others • Willingness or ability to lead others using data, automation, AI, and modern tools to improve workflows and reduce rework • Ability to oversee engineers using Python, MATLAB, or advanced Excel for engineering automation; valued but not required • Additional learning such as a minor, certificate, or experience in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or related fields is valued • Sargent & Lundy does not sponsor employees for work authorization in the U.S.
