📋 Description

• Represent and assist the International Union in carrying out its overall organizing programs • Develop campaign strategies and maintain multi-component strategy tables to coordinate campaign execution • Collaborate with and support stakeholder local unions at state, regional, and national levels • Develop, execute, and strengthen strategic organizing programs and campaigns • Manage comprehensive campaigns and initiatives to achieve campaign goals and benchmarks • Assess campaign execution and recommend strategic decisions • Oversee campaign operations and determine data management systems for collecting, tracking, and analyzing campaign data • Oversee the use of digital organizing strategies and platforms • Staff SEIU participation in relevant government agencies, legislative bodies, and coalitions • Determine strategic allocation of International Union staff and other resources • Oversee campaign budgets and authorize expenditures • Oversee hiring and management of campaign staff • Collaborate with National Organizing Hub staff, Union departments, Local and State Councils Leadership • Perform additional duties supporting the International Union Organizing Program and/or Hubs • Manage own work and the work of others with limited supervision

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum of ten (10) years of external labor organizing experience; or a combination of eight (8) years external labor organizing and two (2) years of internal labor organizing experience • A minimum of eight (8) years of campaign planning and management experience, including developing and managing multi-component campaigns and working with interdisciplinary campaign teams • A minimum of seven (7) years of direct supervisory or team management experience, including leading campaign teams and staff • Ability to determine and analyze key factors and conditions of a company, industry, market and/or community to support campaign strategy development • Ability to develop and manage comprehensive campaigns integrating field, digital, communications, research, legislative, political, and other components • Ability to develop or direct narrative and communications strategies • Ability to build relationships and alliances with coalition partners or allies and mobilize community support • Ability to develop or direct political, legislative, or regulatory strategies and tactics • Ability to convene high-level leaders from multiple locals into collaborative structures • Ability to assess campaign strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats and make strategic recalibrations • Knowledge of digital organizing platforms and tools, including Zoom, PurpleText or other P2P platforms, and Organizing VAN Dialer or other direct dialer systems • Ability to establish campaign structures, systems, roles, and responsibilities • Effective oral and written communication skills and ability to make formal presentations • Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures • Ability to use planning and time-management tools and practices • Ability to manage multiple priority projects and meet established timelines • Ability to develop and facilitate training for staff, workers, and members • Ability to communicate political and policy priorities • Regular and/or long-term travel and overnight stays as needed • Ability to work long and irregular hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends • Resume and cover letter required • Four-year college or university graduation is not required, but is a plus
