📋 Description

• Co-teach three to four periods, including ELA; lead classes independently when covering for another instructor • Follow provided lesson plans and meet lesson objectives while adhering to SEO’s criteria for rigorous instruction and student engagement • Learn and efficiently use Brightspace, Nearpod, G Suite applications, and Zoom chat in a blended learning environment • Read, internalize, and practice lesson plans and materials before teaching • Adjust pacing and activities based on specific student needs • Host open-door lunch tutoring sessions for Scholars needing review, makeup work, or new skills • Promote an energetic, engaging, and approachable classroom culture • Attend scheduled meetings, professional development trainings, check-ins, and debriefs • Respond to emails and Zoom chats in a timely manner • Meet with the assigned instructional coach at least twice during the semester and implement feedback from classroom observations

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a content-related field • Teaching certification, K-12 classroom teaching experience, and/or experience teaching at the college or university level • Reliable personal laptop meeting basic technology requirements • Experience working with high school-aged students • Comfort navigating technological learning systems • Expertise and depth of knowledge in advanced high school-level English and Humanities subjects • Eagerness to engage in conversations analyzing the historical and continued causes of societal ills and challenges • Successful completion of a Level 2 background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse, including fingerprinting, as a condition of employment • Understanding and practice of student-centered pedagogy preferred • Knowledge and experience with Universal Design for Learning (UDL) preferred • Certifications, professional development course completions, and/or tertiary education in Instructional Technologies preferred
