📋 Description

• Provide crisis, suicide and homicide intervention counseling by telephone to callers needing emergency/crisis assistance • Identify and suggest appropriate organizations and service providers to meet callers' needs • Monitor callers' situations through case follow-up • Document and maintain accurate, thorough records of telephone interventions during the work shift • Review daily and “pass through” call reports for accurate information documentation and records maintenance • As assigned, supervise and monitor volunteers and/or staff counselors on individual shifts • Ensure quality crisis assistance services, adherence to CIC and SCS policies and procedures, and accurate documentation • As assigned, provide crisis intervention and suicide awareness and prevention training and consultation • Attend and participate in individual supervision, staff and team meetings, and required CIC, 988 and SCS training sessions • As assigned, represent the CIC in internal and external activities promoting crisis and suicide awareness, prevention and available resources • Work 2nd and 3rd split shifts

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, Social Services or a related field of study (minimum); Psychology degree preferred • Active CIC volunteers may qualify with a High School diploma or GED, successful completion of all AAS/988/Vibrant required training for Crisis/Suicide Intervention Counselor status, and at least six months of independent volunteer Crisis Intervention Counselor service with the CIC after required training • Minimum of one year experience in crisis intervention services / behavioral health services • Previous Crisis Call Center experience preferred • Previous experience working in a confidential remote work environment preferred • Ability to demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills • Ability and willingness to suspend personal judgement regarding callers presenting with diverse issues • Ability and willingness to protect caller and co-worker confidentiality
