📋 Description

• Provide service for inbound pharmacy phone calls and/or place outbound patient refill calls • Assist patients through the entire refill process • Respond to patient requests and inquiries regarding prescription drug plan coverage and pharmacy fulfillment • Support health system needs and check prescription status • Assist pharmacies with electronic prescription drug claim adjudication and resolve error messages • Provide knowledgeable and courteous assistance to members, providers, and pharmacy team members • Serve as a point of contact between patients, pharmacies, liaisons, clinical providers, and internal functional areas • Coordinate medication refills, including data entry and pharmacy claim adjudication • Answer, resolve, and triage inbound inquiries • Clarify prescription orders with pharmacists and clinicians • Identify medications requiring special storage or handling • Manage, organize, and update data using database applications • Improve productivity, quality, operational issues, and customer-service standards • Identify trends, resolve problems, recommend improvements, and implement change • Participate in process improvement initiatives • Act as a business partner to organizational stakeholders • Protect confidential information • Maintain knowledge through educational opportunities and professional resources • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• State registration as a pharmacy technician required • National CPhT certification or equivalent strongly preferred but not required; national certification required at hire if the candidate’s state has no state registration • 1–3 years of pharmacy technician and claims adjudication experience • High school diploma or GED required • Experience managing refills, specialty pharmacy, clinical care teams, or working remotely preferred but not required • Strong interpersonal communication and exceptional phone skills • Comfortable proactively engaging patients and contacting clinicians, payors, and pharmacies by telephone • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word • Ability to quickly learn other programs and adapt to Shields’ tools and model • Strong organizational skills • Ability to sit or stand with focus at a workstation for extended periods • Discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive data • Must work with two company-required monitors • Must have high-speed, stable, and reliable internet • Must be willing and able to work overtime • Must have a distraction-free remote work environment • Ability to keep camera on for most meetings • Solid computer skills, including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, internet, and web-based platforms • Data entry and computer skills evaluated through a pre-employment assessment
