📋 Description

• Provide integrated off-site support to patients, pharmacists, and providers • Deliver medication adherence support using company tools and applications • Provide medication management services to hospital patients • Provide prior authorization, financial assistance, medication onboarding, refill, and renewal support • Educate prospective pharmacy patients about hospital pharmacy services • Handle patients’ medication needs • Grow the specialty pharmacy patient population by following Shields’ programs and processes • Resolve insurance issues and complete benefit investigations and prior authorizations as the provider’s agent • Review and secure available financial assistance • Document patient information in the hospital EMR, Therigy, and Shields proprietary tools • Conduct outbound therapy and medication-adherence checkups • Secure prescription renewals • Communicate with patients about their medications • Identify special storage or handling requirements and necessary medication supplies • Answer, resolve, and triage inbound inquiries • Input data, adjudicate test claims, and prepare follow-up action plans • Apply observations and recommendations to improve productivity, quality, operational issues, and customer-service standards • Participate in process-improvement initiatives • Maintain confidentiality of organizational information • Update knowledge through educational opportunities, professional publications, networks, and organizations • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• State registered as a pharmacy technician • CPhT or equivalent certification strongly preferred but not required • Required 2–3 years’ experience as a Pharmacy Technician • High School Diploma or GED required • Strong interpersonal communication skills and exceptional phone skills • Comfortable proactively engaging patients telephonically and reaching out to clinicians, payors, and pharmacies • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word • Proficient in Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint • Able to navigate the internet and web-based platforms • Strong organizational skills • Ability to sit and/or stand with focus at a workstation for a long period of time • Discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive and private data • Data entry and computer skills evaluated through a pre-employment assessment • Specialty disease-state experience in transplant, hepatitis C, infectious disease including HIV, diabetes, MS, or oncology is a plus • If additional licensure is needed, commitment to obtain it within a mutually agreed-upon timeframe
