📋 Description

• Plan and deliver English lessons to one adult learner using Intercambio’s relationship-based online ESL curriculum • Use the Intercambio Learning System to lead interactive, fun, and engaging lessons • Promote a cooperative learning environment • Foster cultural connections by encouraging learners and teachers to share cultures, perspectives, experiences, and traditions • Meet with students for 90 minutes twice a week • Complete at least two Confidence and Connections curriculum books over approximately six months • Continue teaching subsequent books after completing two books when desired • Complete required new-teacher training • Participate in ongoing professional development and support sessions

🎯 Requirements

• Current enrollment in classes as part of a SNHU degree program • Work study part of financial aid package • Students with work study may be prioritized • Passion for building community, teaching English, and helping learners succeed • Patience, empathy, a positive attitude, and a spirit of life-long learning • Basic computer knowledge to use a video-conferencing platform similar to Zoom • Working camera and microphone • No prior teaching or tutoring experience in English required • Designated time for two 90-minute classes per week plus about 30 minutes for lesson preparation • Must complete Intercambio’s new-teacher training: approximately 8 hours of online modules and one 2-hour live Zoom session • English is sufficient; no additional language required
