📋 Description

• Plan and deliver English lessons to one adult learner using Intercambio’s relationship-based online ESL curriculum, Confidence and Connections • Use the Intercambio Learning System to lead interactive, engaging online lessons • Promote a cooperative learning environment • Foster cultural connections by exchanging cultures, perspectives, experiences, and traditions with learners • Meet students for two 90-minute classes per week • Complete at least two Confidence and Curriculum books over approximately six months • Attend required new-teacher training consisting of online modules and a live Zoom session

🎯 Requirements

• Current enrollment in classes as part of a Southern New Hampshire University degree program • Work study part of financial aid package; students with work study may be prioritized • Passion for building community, teaching English, and helping learners succeed • Patience, empathy, a positive attitude, and a spirit of lifelong learning • Basic computer knowledge and ability to use a video-conferencing platform similar to Zoom • Working camera and microphone • No language other than English required • No prior English teaching or tutoring experience required • Availability for two 90-minute classes per week plus approximately 30 minutes for lesson preparation • Commitment to at least two curriculum books over approximately six months • Must complete Intercambio’s new-teacher training: approximately 8 hours of online modules and one 2-hour live Zoom session
