• Establish Crawford Electric Supply as a leading regional distributor of datacom, structured cabling, and low-voltage products • Build the go-to-market team • Secure key manufacturer partnerships • Develop inventory and product strategy • Recruit talent across major metros within Crawford’s footprint • Recruit, hire, and develop datacom sales associates across major metro markets in Crawford’s 8-state territory • Establish training programs, sales processes, and performance metrics for the datacom business • Build a scalable organizational structure for long-term segment growth • Identify, pursue, and secure manufacturer authorizations and distribution agreements • Negotiate program terms, rebates, and co-op marketing support • Own relationships with key manufacturer partners and represent Crawford at manufacturer events and business reviews • Design and implement a datacom inventory profile aligned to regional demand, stocking strategy, and working capital goals • Partner with purchasing and branch operations on SKU strategy, min/max levels, and distribution logistics • Evaluate product mix against market trends and customer demand • Develop and execute a go-to-market strategy targeting datacom contractors, low-voltage integrators, and end users • Build relationships with contractors, integrators, engineers, and end-user accounts • Identify growth markets and prioritize metro-level expansion • Partner with branch managers and outside sales teams to integrate datacom offerings into existing customer relationships • Collaborate with marketing on positioning, collateral, and demand-generation programs • Report segment performance, pipeline, and strategic initiatives to executive leadership
• 8+ years of experience in datacom, structured cabling, low voltage, or related electrical/technology distribution • Proven track record building or scaling a business unit, sales team, or new product line • Established relationships with datacom/low voltage manufacturers strongly preferred • Experience working with contractors, integrators, and end users in the datacom/low voltage space • Strong negotiation skills with manufacturer and vendor partners • Demonstrated ability to recruit and build sales teams across multiple markets • Willingness to travel extensively across an 8-state territory • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
