📋 Description

• Provide quality instruction in each assigned course within the approved academic program curriculum • Assist with development, implementation, and continuous evaluation of curriculum, including course sequence and student learning outcomes • Respond in a timely manner to information requests from institutional officials, students, professional organizations, public agencies, and others as appropriate • Promote appropriate standards of linguistic expression in written and oral communications • Complete and submit academic program requirements and documentation, including clinical evaluations and competency documentation, by established deadlines • Meet all faculty expectations weekly • Manage classroom activities appropriately • Be reasonably accessible to students for questions and assistance • Monitor educational and professional literature for best practices related to courses taught • Assist with curricular and policy changes as requested by the Dean/Department Chair • Assist with selection of new textbooks as appropriate • Participate in required professional development activities, minimum of 1 per year for regular adjunct faculty • Participate in institution, school, or department committees as appropriate • Adhere to institutional and School/Department policies • Complete other duties assigned by the Dean/Department Chair • Report directly to the Program Director of Clinical Mental Health Counseling

🎯 Requirements

• Terminal degree (PhD or EdD) in Counselor Education or Counseling from an appropriately accredited institution required • Successful completion of a minimum of 18 hours of graduate coursework in the subject matter field of counseling • Demonstrated knowledge of major counseling theories and their application to case conceptualization, treatment planning, and evidence-based clinical practice • Clinical experience applying one or more theoretical orientations in direct practice with clients • Ability to model case conceptualization for graduate students • Working knowledge of the ACA Code of Ethics, CACREP standards, and state licensure requirements for professional counselors • Strong communication and organizational skills • Commitment to fostering student learning and success in a virtual environment • Prior successful online teaching preferred • Active professional counseling license (LPC, LPCC, LMHC, or equivalent) preferred • Preference for graduates of CACREP-accredited doctoral programs
