• Instruct and facilitate meaningful learning of course outcomes in the curriculum • Support all facets of the learning environment and provide learning-centered instruction • Manage the educational process and ensure every student has a positive educational experience • Perform faculty responsibilities according to the Faculty Supplement to the South University Employee Handbook • Provide course instruction aligned with the South University curriculum model and system delivery style • Develop instructional plans and activities to meet course outcomes and lesson objectives • Deliver approved instruction within online course shells when applicable • Utilize technology in the classroom to support student learning • Establish student performance criteria and evaluate learning outcomes • Plan and prepare classes to promote student success and student involvement • Maintain accurate records, submit grades and reports on time, and enforce academic and attendance policies • Relate professional, life, and industry experience to learning while maintaining professional and technical skills • Introduce industry perspectives and remain aware of professional and industry trends and opportunities • Participate in faculty development to enhance learner-centered instruction skills • Communicate with supervisors, faculty, and South University administrators • Participate in curriculum and system task forces, campus events such as orientation and graduation, workshops, and meetings
• Earned doctorate/terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline is required for faculty teaching graduate and post-baccalaureate coursework • Experience in Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the Doctorate level or equivalent preferred • Experience in instruction or formalized education process, preferably in a post-secondary or college institution in a DNP Program • Membership in a professional association tied to the area of instruction preferred • At least six months of teaching experience at South University or another post-secondary education institution preferred; online experience is a plus for online-only roles • Active, valid, and unencumbered state licensure or certification as applicable to the discipline • A compact license is required
