• Develop and implement NERC compliance strategies to ensure regulatory adherence, minimize risk and support power-grid reliability • Ensure employees and contractors receive training on NERC standards, requirements and compliance procedures • Conduct compliance audits, self-assessments and internal reviews; identify non-compliance and take corrective action • Develop and maintain compliance documentation, including policies, procedures, standards and control processes • Report compliance-related issues, incidents, violations and self-reports to NERC and other regulatory bodies • Perform market and operational data mining and analysis for event analysis, data requests and compliance assessments • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on remediation plans, risk mitigation, corrective actions and performance improvement initiatives • Monitor changes to NERC standards and regulations and update compliance programs and documentation • Maintain relationships with NERC and other regulatory agencies; respond to inquiries, requests and audits • Continuously improve compliance management processes and procedures • Support Spark Power's strategic initiatives and continuous improvement objectives within the Operational Excellence program • Promote a culture of safety, discipline, transparency and accountability
• Educational background in energy industry with a Bachelor's and Master's degree • 3 years experience in the energy industry with a focus in contract management, government regulation and policy, and research and analytics • Strong understanding of operational systems, including monitoring platforms, analytical tools and supporting systems (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio) • Knowledge of the Bulk Electric System, FERC, NERC and Regional Entity standards, rules and policies • Ability to influence cross-functional site leadership • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to build trust and respect across all levels of the business • Hands-on approach to solving challenges or problems
