📋 Description

• Monitor and triage security alerts across endpoint, network, identity, and cloud data sources • Investigate alerts to assess severity, scope, and maliciousness, escalating according to documented procedures • Support initial incident response activities, including evidence collection, timeline development, and basic containment recommendations under supervision • Use SIEM, EDR, NDR/NSM, and SOAR platforms to detect, investigate, and respond to threats • Apply threat intelligence and MITRE ATT&CK to enrich investigations and explain attacker behavior • Document investigation steps, evidence, decisions, and recommended next actions in case management systems • Communicate status and findings to internal leadership and clients • Identify recurring false positives and noisy alerts and provide feedback for tuning and playbook updates • Maintain proficiency through training, labs, and knowledge sharing • Support 24x7 SOC operations across multiple client environments

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, IT Security, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience • 1–3 years of professional experience; campus applicants are welcome • Punctuality and timely attendance to external client and internal stakeholder needs • Ability to monitor and triage security alerts across endpoint, network, identity, and cloud telemetry • Ability to investigate alerts and determine severity, scope, and whether activity is benign, suspicious, or malicious • Ability to perform initial incident response support, evidence collection, timeline development, and basic containment recommendations under supervision • Experience or ability to use SIEM, EDR, NDR/NSM, and SOAR platforms, including tools such as Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, CrowdStrike Falcon, or Microsoft Defender for Endpoint • Knowledge of threat intelligence and frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK • Ability to document investigations in case management systems • Professional written and verbal communication skills • Ability to follow policies protecting confidential information • Ability to work assigned morning, day, or night shifts, including Saturday or Sunday • Preferred: coursework, labs, internship, or work experience in incident investigation, digital forensics, information security, systems administration, or computer networking • Preferred: familiarity with authentication logs, Windows event logs, DNS, HTTP, and email security • Preferred: interest in PowerShell or Python scripting • Preferred: security certifications such as SC-200, Security+, or Network+
