• Assist with financial management and administration of Housing Forward's finances, systems, processes, and records • Ensure expenditures comply with federal and state program requirements, statutes, GAAP, and applicable standards • Prepare monthly grant and contract reimbursement requests • Coordinate and review timesheets, activity logs, non-labor internal charges, and subcontractor reimbursement requests • Analyze supporting documentation for expense allocability and allowability • Record revenue from foundations, grants, and privately raised contributions • Reconcile revenue and expenses between reimbursement requests and the general ledger • Review budget-to-actual expenses and monitor over- or underspending • Review, reconcile, and record employee benefit expenditures • Process bank reconciliations and reconcile balance sheet accounts • Record fixed assets and manage the fixed asset schedule • Record employee expense reimbursement requests in compliance with internal policies • Monitor and record expenditures and receipts • Provide financial, administrative, and clerical support • Assist in maintaining financial and reporting systems • Assist with departmental budget preparation and deadlines • Review departmental financial activities to promote efficient operations • Perform month-end and year-end procedures, including reconciliations, working papers, monthly closing, annual audit, and ad-hoc monitoring • Coordinate and assist external auditors during audit fieldwork • Help ensure audited financial statement deadlines are met • Perform other duties as assigned
• Three (3) years or more of experience in budget preparation, finance, accounting, or a closely related field • Bachelor's degree is preferred • Advanced proficiency in Excel, QuickBooks, and payroll systems; PayCor experience preferred • Strong understanding of GAAP, allocation methodologies, and government billing • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Ability to use initiative, independent judgment, and leadership in budget and accounting analyses • Detail-oriented and able to follow through independently • Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines • Ability to make routine judgments and decisions • Effective written and verbal communication skills • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and relevant accounting experience preferred • Reliable transportation, valid state-issued driver's license, and car insurance • Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel • Flexibility to work at different sites as scheduled • Ability to maintain files and lift objects weighing up to 25 lbs. • Ability to travel on a limited basis
