📋 Description

• Support state regulatory and permitting reform work • Work directly with the Policy Director, Legal Director, and management team • Research state statutes, regulations, and guidance documents • Analyze state regulatory reform initiatives and potential • Verify legal citations in written materials • Test AI tools for regulatory analysis • Build simple AI-powered applications for regulatory research • Review draft materials and suggest edits for accuracy, readability, and persuasiveness • Write and publish short pieces, including blog posts or brief op-eds, as opportunities arise • Contribute work product to briefings, model legislation, and materials used by state legislators, governors’ offices, and executive agencies

🎯 Requirements

• Eligible candidates must be geographically located in the United States through the duration of the program • Must be authorized to work in the United States through the duration of the program • Current law or public policy student or recent graduate, or prior experience working with statutes, regulations, and other legal materials • Strong attention to detail • Comfort experimenting with new software tools • Experience with AI tools or low-code platforms is a plus • Familiarity with cost-benefit analysis is helpful but not required • No programming background required
