📋 Description

• Monitor legislation in assigned states and identify bills MPPF should support or oppose • Perform cannabis policy research and writing • Draft emails to supporters, form letters to lawmakers, informational handouts, web content, and written testimony on key bills • Research legislators’ stances on cannabis policies and update a spreadsheet • Perform advocacy-related tasks, including remotely testifying at legislative hearings, scheduling legislative meetings, mobilizing grassroots allies, and coordinating with allied organizations • Contribute to Marijuana Policy Project Foundation’s mission of reforming cannabis laws and educating cannabis regulators, consumers, and state legislators • Work under the supervision of the Director of State Policies

🎯 Requirements

• Early-career professionals, including undergraduate, graduate, or law students and recent graduates, are encouraged to apply • Must be geographically located in the United States throughout the program • Must be authorized to work in the United States throughout the program • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a small remote group setting • Extremely detail-oriented • Excellent time management skills • Ability to conduct real-time outreach and research with limited oversight • Must interview with both the non-profit partner organization and Stand Together Fellowships staff
