📋 Description

• Develop action plans for managing litigated claims, evaluate insurance coverage, attend mediation and trial, monitor litigation costs, handle discovery, and recommend ultimate resolutions • Oversee legal defense strategy, retain outside counsel, coordinate investigations, review attorney invoices, and monitor counsel compliance with litigation management guidelines • Investigate pre-suit claims, review medical records, interview providers, retain consultants, communicate with patients and families, and negotiate settlements when warranted • Prepare claims reports and settlement evaluations • Present high-exposure cases to leadership, stakeholders, and reinsurance partners • Maintain accurate defense and indemnity reserves • Manage claims files in the internal database and enter work product accurately and promptly • Investigate cyber and privacy claims and pursue recovery in construction and property claims • Manage associated insurance reporting and communication requirements • Handle Medical Board and NPDB reporting • Prepare and conduct Risk Management educational presentations • Assist with other assigned matters

🎯 Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) required • California license preferred • Five (5) years of progressively responsible and directly-related claim management experience • Strong writing, communication, and presentation skills • Effective negotiation skills • Ability to analyze complex legal problems and develop solutions • Ability to review and evaluate medical records and literature • Knowledge of laws pertaining to professional and general liability litigation • Ability to work effectively both as a team player and leader
