📋 Description

• Join Stantec's Cultural Resources team in and around our Riverview and Tallahassee, FL offices to play an integral role in conducting archaeological survey, testing, data recovery, and monitoring. • The ideal candidate will have previous field experience in Phase I, II, and III archaeological survey. • This position will require travel throughout Florida as well as surrounding southeastern states. • Responsibilities may include but are not limited to performing archaeological fieldwork tasks including controlled surface survey; shovel testing; and excavation.

🎯 Requirements

• Experience on Phase I survey projects preferred • Experience in Phase II testing or Phase III data recovery projects preferred • Previous experience with mapping equipment and other special application equipment (e.g., ESRI’s ArcGIS Field Maps, ArcGIS Survey123, etc.) • Knowledge of land navigation using a compass • Must have a valid driver’s license with good driving record and is comfortable driving an F-150 or equivalent to and from projects and unpaved roads. • Strong oral and written communication skills • Detail oriented; resourceful; self-motivated; strong initiative • Positive and energetic attitude • Bachelor’s Degree in anthropology/archaeology or related field, or combination of education and experience • Successful completion of an archeology field school • Professional experience conducting archaeological survey and excavation preferred • Knowledge of precontact and historic material culture • Ability to complete physically demanding tasks in remote areas and/or humid continental climate, including walking, hiking, carrying heavy loads, and digging • Frequent out-of-town travel, potentially for extended periods of time • Qualified applicants should exhibit strong technical skills, good communication skills, and feel comfortable making decisions in the field • Must be able to pass pre-employment and post-employment checks as needed, including background checks and drug tests
