📋 Description

• Administer, monitor, maintain, and support production and non-production database environments • Ensure database performance, availability, reliability, and scalability through proactive monitoring and optimization • Perform database installations, upgrades, patches, and configuration changes • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, performance bottlenecks, and system outages • Administer SQL Server availability groups, TDE, CDC, replication, backup and restore, and performance tuning • Administer Amazon RDS and Aurora PostgreSQL, including Multi-AZ, read replicas, Serverless v2 capacity, parameter groups, snapshots, point-in-time restore, and Performance Insights or CloudWatch Database Insights • Manage PostgreSQL roles, row-level security, logical replication, extensions, and major-version upgrades, including RDS blue/green deployments • Migrate SQL Server to AWS using RDS, RDS Custom, EC2, S3-native backup and restore, and AWS DMS with change data capture • Implement AWS database security using KMS encryption, Secrets Manager rotation, IAM database authentication, and TLS with properly validated certificates • Manage backup and disaster recovery using AWS Backup, cross-region copies, restore testing, and Aurora Global Database failover • Make infrastructure changes through Terraform pull requests and platform pipelines • Monitor database security, access controls, and compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements • Collaborate with Software Engineering teams on database design, development, deployment, and optimization initiatives • Support healthcare technology platforms by ensuring integrity, reliability, and scalability of critical data systems • Work closely with Engineering, Product, Analytics, and Infrastructure teams to optimize database performance and support business and customer needs • Attend company gatherings a few times a year for up to one week

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field • 3-5 years of database administration experience in enterprise environments • Experience administering relational database management systems such as Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar platforms • Experience with database backup, recovery, maintenance, and performance tuning • Experience troubleshooting database performance and availability issues • Experience supporting cloud-based and SaaS applications • Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or other enterprise database platforms • Strong knowledge of SQL, database architecture, indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning • Experience with database monitoring and administration tools • Familiarity with high availability, replication, clustering, and disaster recovery technologies • Experience with PowerShell, Python, SQL scripting, or other automation tools • Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and managed database services • Understanding of data security, encryption, auditing, and access management practices • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods while working at a desk or workstation • Ability to operate standard office equipment, including a computer, keyboard, mouse, webcam, and telephone • Effective written and verbal communication • Up to 10% travel based on business needs • Attendance expected at company gatherings a few times a year
