📋 Description

• Handle accident and weather-related claims for homeowners, commercial properties, and large losses • Conduct on-site inspections and assessments of residential and commercial property damage • Meet with insureds as the first point of contact • Explain coverage and estimate damages • Help policyholders through the claims process while providing Remarkable service • Collaborate with policyholders, insurance agents, and other involved parties • Gather evidence and document findings • Prepare detailed reports supporting claims handling • Investigate and adjust personal and commercial property claims with exposures up to $500,000 • Evaluate coverage and policy terms to determine claim validity and regulatory compliance • Negotiate and settle claims within authorized limits • Address inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally • Service the assigned Mason City, Iowa territory and occasionally travel outside it to assist other territories

🎯 Requirements

• Experienced and highly skilled professional • Ability to investigate problems, evaluate information, and make well-supported decisions • Ability to interpret detailed policies, guidelines, or technical information and apply them accurately • Ability to quickly learn unfamiliar concepts, processes, and terminology • Ability to effectively interact with policyholders, agents, and other stakeholders • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for difficult or emotional conversations • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills • Proficiency using mobile/desktop tools to document and support claims in the field and remotely • Physical ability to walk, bend, reach, kneel, squat, stoop, lift, carry, unfold, climb ladders, traverse roofs, and crawl in tight spaces • May be required to complete Rope and Harness Safety Training • Valid driver's license required • Employees must successfully complete required training, applicable proficiency and licensing exams, MVR checks, and background checks • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Business, Construction Management, or similar • Preferred: Customer service experience • Preferred: Understanding of property insurance concepts and claim handling practices • Preferred: Knowledge of residential and commercial building construction and materials • Preferred: Familiarity with water mitigation principles and inspection processes • Preferred: Working knowledge of Xactimate and XactContents • Ability and willingness to work flexible schedules, overtime, and irregular hours
